Professions & Skills

Beyond the classic Tibia skills, Krovot Old features a full gathering, crafting & living-world loop. You harvest raw materials out in the world, level up your professions by using them, and turn those materials into tools, elite gear, buff food, powerful relics and equipment-enhancing runes at dedicated crafting stations. Every profession is a long-term grind — from level 0 all the way to 100.

Your progress is shown in the in-game Skills panel: Fishing (the native Tibia skill) plus four custom professions — Crafting, Cooking, Mining and Skinning.

How Profession Leveling Works

Every time you use a profession — each pick swing, each skinning attempt, each fish reeled in, each item crafted — you earn tries toward the next level. The higher your level, the more tries the next one costs, so the road to 100 is a true long-term goal.

Your level also makes you more effective. Gathering tools have a base success chance, and your skill adds a bonus on top of it:

Final Chance = Tool Base Chance + Skill Bonus

The skill bonus scales linearly with your level, up to +15% at level 100.
No matter how high the total climbs, every gathering action is capped at 95% success.

Unlocking a Profession

Anyone can pick up any profession from level 0 — no quest required. But once you reach the unlock milestone, the profession is officially mastered and three things happen:

  • A celebratory message and effect mark the moment.
  • From then on you earn tries 50% faster in that profession — momentum rewards commitment.
  • You are granted that profession's outfit, which you can wear with pride.

Mining

Equip a pickaxe and use it on a mining target. There are two kinds of nodes:

  • Mountain rocks — yield Ore (the main forging material) and, with a small chance that rises with your Mining skill, a raw gem (small ruby, emerald, sapphire, amethyst or diamond).
  • Crystal veins — yield Crystal Orbs, the seed material every starter tool is forged from.

Veins are repeatable nodes: each strike rolls a chance to extract and slowly depletes the node. Once exhausted, a vein regenerates on its own after 30 minutes, so a mining spot is never lost — it simply needs time to recharge. Even a plain pick can chip a Crystal Orb out of a vein (low chance), which is how a brand-new miner gets started.

A clever twist: the weaker your pickaxe, the more attempts it makes per use — a Rough Pickaxe swings harder (more tries) while a Crystal Pickaxe is precise. Better tools also have a small chance to break, so keep a spare.

Extracted from crystal veins. Used to forge your very first tools and as a binder in advanced recipes.

Skinning

Equip a cleaver and use it on a fresh creature corpse to extract leather. Special corpses are repeatable and allow several skinning attempts before they are used up. The leather you get depends on the type of creature you skinned — and the rarer the hide, the better your cleaver must be. Each cleaver can only skin creatures up to a certain class:

Tip: a weaker cleaver makes more skinning attempts per corpse, but it simply cannot harvest a dragon or a demon — you need the matching tier. Cleavers also have a small chance to break with use.

Fishing

Fishing uses the native Tibia skill, but the crafted rods unlock premium fish — used both for cooking and as a source of Fish Leather. The higher the rod's tier, the bigger its catch pool and the better its base chance to land a premium fish (which also rises with your Fishing skill).

Fishing by Region

The waters of Krovot are not all the same. Certain fish only appear in specific biomes — cast your line in the right place to land them:

  • Open ocean — Bluefin Tuna, Clownfish, Golden Dorado.
  • Frozen seas (fishing near ice & snow) — Northern Pike and Salmon.
  • Swamps (fishing near swamp ground) — the Green Perch.
  • Lava — only the Volcanic Rod can fish here, pulling the exclusive Lava Fish and Firemouth Fish.

Tip: every premium fish restores 12 food. Skin them with a cleaver to obtain Fish Leather, the material used to craft the higher-tier fishing rods.

Crafting Stations

Crafting happens at two stations placed in the world. Stand next to one and use it (or click Open) to open its recipe window. The window shows every recipe you can attempt, its materials (green = you have it, red = you're missing it) and your live success chance.

Crafting is probabilistic (Miracle-style).

Success chance = base + your skill × a per-recipe multiplier, capped at 95%. When you attempt a recipe the materials are always consumed. On a success you get the item, gold is charged and you gain +2 tries; on a failure you keep your gold but lose the materials and gain +1 try (you train by trying). Higher skill means cheaper, safer crafts — and unlocks the recipes gated behind it.

The Forge also requires an Iron Hammer in your backpack. The Oven has no such requirement — cooking is open to everyone from the start.

Forge Recipes (Crafting)

Your first tools are forged almost purely from Crystal Orbs with a high success rate — the perfect bootstrap for a new crafter. Higher tiers demand ore, themed leathers and a minimum Crafting (and sometimes Mining) level, and grow steadily harder to craft.

Iron Hammer & Breaking Down Gear

The Iron Hammer is the blacksmith's core tool: you must carry one to forge anything. Each character can claim a free Iron Hammer from a quest chest in the Minotaur Mountain.

Beyond forging, the Iron Hammer lets you break metal equipment back into Ore — perfect for recycling rare drops you don't need. Here's how:

Place an anvil on the ground (or stand by one).

Drop the metal equipment you want to break on top of the anvil.

Use the Iron Hammer on the anvil. The gear shatters into Ore, delivered straight to your backpack, and grants Crafting tries.
Place gear on the anvil, strike it with the Iron Hammer, and it becomes Ore

Only equipment with real attributes / rarity can be broken (the better and rarer the item, the more Ore you get, anywhere from a couple of bars up to a small pile). As in classic blacksmithing, a break can occasionally yield nothing — metal is unforgiving.

Oven Recipes (Cooking)

Every pie restores 30 food and grants a 10-minute buff. Lasagna is the master dish: it restores 40 food and stacks several bonuses for 15 minutes. All cooking materials are common fruit, flour, meat, cheese and fish — flour is milled from wheat the classic way.

Note: food buffs are temporary stat boosts — only one food buff can be active at a time, and eating a new pie refreshes it. Pies are perfect to pop right before a hunt or a tough fight.

Giant Gems (Crafting relics)

The pinnacle of the crafting tree. Giant Gems are forged at Crafting 55 from handfuls of raw gems (mined from rocks), Ore and Crystal Orbs — the hardest, most expensive crafts in the game. Use one to crush it and absorb a powerful 30-minute buff. Only one gem buff can be active at a time.

Runes of Attribution

Attribution runes permanently enhance your equipment. Use a rune "with" a matching piece of gear to add a bonus; each item can absorb up to 5 runes of the same kind (the bonus stacks). The success chance is 40% + Crafting × 0.5 (cap 90%), and the rune is always consumed — win or lose. Runes coexist with rarity bonuses, so you can enhance an item you've already upgraded.

Where to get runes

Craft them at the Forge (Crafting 40, from Ore, Crystal Orbs and a raw gem), or find a Mystic Bag — a rare drop from Demons and other elite creatures that, when used, opens into a random rune.

Mentor, Achievements & Ancient Coins

Professions are also a path of prestige. As you master them you earn achievements that pay out a new currency — Ancient Coins — and open the door to a hunters' organisation.

Switch — the Profession Mentor

Found in the Temple of Thais. Ask him about any profession (in English or Portuguese) to hear your level and status. He unlocks a profession the instant you qualify and hands out its outfit on request.

Elite Hunters — the Organisation

Also in the Temple of Thais. This guild buys your leathers for Ancient Coins, with better prices unlocked as your rank rises (rank grows with the achievements you earn). The rarest hides — dragon and demonic — require a higher rank to sell.

There are 16 achievements in total (one Apprentice, one Master and one Grandmaster per profession, plus the grand Versatile reward). Type !conquistas in-game to review which you've earned and your Ancient Coin total.

Tier Colors

Crafted tools, leathers, gems and dishes carry a colored border that marks their grade at a glance. The same color scale used by the Rarity Upgrade system applies here, capped at Epic:
